Careers Advice

The Next Step to Future Careers

Elfed High School works with Careers Wales to ensure that our students have the best advice regarding their next steps in education and future careers.

Our annual Careers Fair is on Wednesday 20th September 2017, 5.00pm to 7.00pm.  All students, parents and carers are welcome.  There will be an opportunity to chat with representatives from local industry, training, further and higher eduction.

Our careers advisor will meet with individual students to provide advice and support. There is a range of activities to encourage students to consider their individual learning pathways. Careers advisors also attend Progress Evenings and are available to meet students, parents and carers at other times by request.

All students have access to the Careers Wales website, with information about qualifications, jobs and training.

In Year 10 and Year 11 all students have individual interviews with a representative of Careers Wales.

Students are fully supported in preparing for employment and training. There is assistance throughout the application process for further and higher education.

Work Experience and Links with Industry

All students attend a work placement. This experience helps them to learn about the world of work. We are grateful to employers for providing excellent placements and for the close links that benefit our students.
