Year 7 Interim Report and Progress Evening

On Friday 17th November we send home a Wellbeing Update to let Parents and Carers know how their child is settling in at Elfed High School.  This will contain some information about progress and targets.

There will be an opportunity to meet with your child’s Tutor at the Year 7 Pizza and Pasta Evening on Thursday 28th September 2017 (6.00pm – 8.00pm).

Parents and Carers will also receive a full report on progress in Year 7 on Friday 22nd June 2018.

The Year 7 Progress Evening is on Thursday 22nd February 2018, 4.30pm to 7.00pm.

Attendance

We aim for full attendance in Year 7 and ask Parents and Carers to avoid taking holidays in term time so that students do not miss out on learning opportunities.  Every lesson counts at Elfed High School.

ElfedExtra-StudyClubStudy Club

Year 7 students are welcome to come to Study Club in the Library from 8.30am to 8.50am and from 3.30pm to 4.00pm.

 

ElfedExtra-BreakfastClubGet Started Club

Year 7 students are welcome to come to the Dining Room between 8.15am and 8.50am for Get Started Club.  There are snacks and drinks available for your breakfast.  Take advantage of the opportunity to meet up with new friends and to have some support with learning and completing homework tasks.

 

Vivo rewards

We are keen to praise and reward our students with Vivo reward points for full attendance, punctuality and outstanding achievements.  Parents and Carers can log on to their child’s on line account by using personal Vivo log in details.  Please contact the Vivo Shop for further information about this scheme.

home learning

In Year 7 students should spend up to 30 minutes on each subject each week. Information about homework is recorded in the student planner.

They should also spend at least 15 minutes reading every day.  The Reading Log helps record what has been read.
