About School Governors

A Positive Contribution to Education

Elfed School Governors are people who wish to make a positive contribution to education. They volunteer to give their time and expertise to help their schools provide our children with the best education.

Governors work in partnership with the Headteacher and other school staff to set the school’s aims and monitor its performance to make sure that they are achieved.

The Governing Body is are accountable the quality of education provided at the school.

The Elfed High School Governing Body meets once every term.  Between meetings the committees meet: Premises, Finance, Pay and Staffing, Curriculum, Community and Sports Centre.

In 2015 the Governing Body received the Governors Wales Quality Mark Bronze Award for the second time, in recognition of its significant impact on the achievement of the school. The Award confirms that there are excellent processes and practices in place and that their contribution has supported school leadership in raising standards.
