Festive fun aids vulnerable children across the world

A charity has received a cheque for £222.57, donated by students and staff of a local school.  

Staff and students from Elfed High School in Buckley pulled together in a festive spirit for the annual ‘Jumper Day’ on the last day of the winter term.

Senior Students, representing the Elfed School Council, presented a cheque for the amount raised to Mrs Jackie White, a representative of Save the Children. Mrs White was who was overjoyed to accept to accept the generous donation.

Mrs White said ‘’I am very pleased to accept this cheque, it is brilliant’’. She continued to thank the school and gave details of some of the important projects Save the Children is involved in all over the world.

A Pastoral Support Assistant at the school, was the co-ordinator of the presentation event. He said ‘’ We were very pleased to raise this money for such a worthwhile cause. The students of the Elfed School Council were a credit to the school in the fundraising process and were very happy to present the cheque.’’
